Phthalate problem greater than expected

Green procurement is the key to green growth
There are enormous environmental and economic benefits to be reaped, if public institutions in European countries can be better at buying green. For example, countries could save up to 65% of the energy currently used for street lighting by replacing or upgrading to more intelligent systems. A new report, launched by Danish Minister for the Environment Ida Auken today at an international conference on green growth, illustrates the potential in green public procurement.

Nature celebrated in Lille Vildmose
On Monday 21 May 2012, The Danish Ministry of the Environment, the city of Aalborg and the European Commission host the 20-year anniversary of one of Europe’s key pieces of nature legislation, the Habitats Directive and of LIFE, the EU funding instrument for the Environment in the raised bog habitat of Lille Vildmose, under the Danish presidency of the EU Council of Ministers.
