The Ministry of the Environment is in charge of administrative and research tasks in the area of environmental protection and planning. In Denmark the administration at state level is managed by Ministry of the Environment. At regional and local level, much of the administrative responsibility has been delegated to municipalities.
At present mr. Troels Lund Poulsen is minister for the Environment.

 

The Forest and Nature Agency is primarily concerned with ensuring opportunities for the enjoyment of nature. The Agency is also responsible for creation, preservation and restoration of the Danish countryside.

The Agency for Spatial and Environmental Planning is responsible for the Danish state's general interests within the areas of nature, the aquatic environment and the planning of urban and rural areas.

The National Survey and Cadastre works towards making spatial data an everyday tool for the public sector, for businesses and for the general public. The National Survey and Cadastre is the government agency for maps and spatial data.

The Environmental Protection Agency works to protect the environment, nature and people. The Agency administrates legislation on environmental protection, waste, soil, chemicals, pesticides, gene technology and the environmental impact of noise and air pollution caused by transport.
